Here at DJ Construction, we believe that giving back is second to none and being involved with our communities begins and ends with not-for-profits who dedicate their lives to the betterment of others.

That’s why we work year-round in helping within our communities. Many of our project partners also reach out in tangible ways.

If you’re looking for opportunities to help others throughout the year, check out these few opportunities.

Turtle Top, a DJ Construction partner, teams up every year with Feed My Starving Children by donating over 500 man-hours to assemble  meals. Together with about 100 additional local volunteers,  the company packaged enough food to feed 543 kids for one year.

If you wish to get involved, go to the Feed My Starving Children homepage to learn more about how your efforts will make a difference.

The Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County
This not-for-profit organization works with local youth in hopes of enabling them to reach their full potential as caring, productive, and respectful adults- starting with those who need it the most. They provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere for the children, ongoing relationships with caring adults, and character-development programs.

DJ Construction has a very special relationship with The Boys and Girls Clubs here in Goshen, Elkhart, Nappanee, and Middlebury, having partnered with them for four decades.

You can offer volunteer hours with them as well; learn more by clicking on this link.

lacasa

LaCasa of Goshen
LaCasa, Inc. works to provide families around the Goshen/Elkhart area with housing that is safe, affordable and attractive. By helping a family get back on their feet, starting with their home, LaCasa takes away the pressure of having a safe and attractive home and allows them to focus on other aspects of their lives. They also provide educational classes on debt-reduction, goal-setting, and foreclosure prevention.

DJ has worked with LaCasa to convert apartments, build houses, and renovate homes.

“Looking back on the last 10 years and having gotten to know the LaCasa Organization, one cannot help but be impressed by the impact that they have had in the local community in providing housing, financial education and improving neighborhoods,” said DJ President, Doug Wogoman.

The Beaman Home
The Beaman Home provides essential services to domestic violence victims and their children by empowering them to live with dignity while helping to break the cycle of violence.

DJ currently is partnering with The Beaman Home in a multi-phased project; the first phase is renovating and expanding office space.

The needs of this agency is expansive and includes child care, repair and maintenance, assisting in the office, and housekeeping.

It’s A Year-Round Effort
By volunteering with your local community, you can see firsthand how other people are living and take the chance to walk in the shoes of those less fortunate. Your efforts go much farther than what meets the eye, knowing that just a few hours will change the life of someone for many years down the road.

About DJ Construction:
Our commercial construction company limits our geographical area to align with our company’s mission and culture by working roughly within a one hour driving distance from our Goshen and Warsaw offices. We do this because:

  • We like to work in the communities in which we live, volunteer, worship, and shop.
  • We become more accountable to the quality of our product. We can’t not have a satisfied client.
  • We want to be familiar with well-qualified vendors and subcontractors within those communities.
