The revitalized Tolson Center for Community Excellence is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to enhancing lives through inclusive learning, recreation and cultural exchange for all ages. The 30,355-square-foot community center includes art rooms, multiple gymnasiums, a dance studio and a commercial kitchen among many other resources, all at no cost to its members. Striving for meaningful impact and to empower lives across the community, The Tolson Center is a great example of DJ Construction’s dedication to building spaces that make a difference.

During the construction of The Tolson Center, a major challenge presented itself due to poor soil conditions causing unstable ground at the site. In order to create structural integrity of the building, our team included the installation of over 500 geo-piers 10-14 feet underground. The exterior of the center includes Petrarch panels and a 12’ diameter stained-glass window, giving the building a clean, modernized look.
