The Early Learning Center, founded in 2011 and originally located at Granger Community Church, has been transformed into a world-class facility, now located in Elkhart and known as The Early Learning Center at Hubbard Hill. The 30,160-square-foot facility is the new standard in high-quality early childhood education as it was featured in the nation’s top 8% of NAEYC-accredited schools. DJ Construction was honored to build a facility that specializes in faith-based education and encourages creative thinking of young minds. Special features of this project include both indoor and outdoor playgrounds that are constructed with natural wood elements, promoting nature to children. Additionally, 3D ceiling tiles called FACT tiles sit atop T-Bar lighting fixtures which adds dimension and creates patterns throughout the facility.

A project of this magnitude did not come without its own unique challenges. Our team had to raise the site up to 9 feet with fill material to accommodate grading for the finished floor elevation. In addition to this, cost escalation of necessary materials during the construction project led to products being ordered with a considerable amount of lead time in an effort to keep the project price from increasing significantly. Our team was able to create a new, exceptional center that continues to make dreams come true!
