GOSHEN, Ind. – (June 2017)  Silverwood Mennonite Church and DJ Construction have embarked on a project to expand and update the foyer, pave the parking lot and replace aging heating and air conditioning units.

According to Pastor Jeremy Shue the project has a dual purpose.  “What started out as a need to address replacement of heating and cooling units turned into an opportunity for Silverwood to also enlarge and completely renovate the main entrance foyer, meeting our desire to be a congregation that is welcoming and inviting.”

The improved lobby space will include a coffee bar and comfortable gathering spaces to promote face to face connection and relationship.  Given that Silverwood has a high value on relationships, the coffee bar and lobby will be available for small groups and gatherings of people throughout the week as well. In addition, a columbarium will be constructed in the wooded area at the back of the building.

The project design was completed through a collaborative effort between Wall Architecture LLC, DJ Construction and the Silverwood building committee.
