History

DJ Construction’s rich history forms the backbone of what the company has become today.

In 1954, brothers Don and Joe Schrock left their family business of Schrock Plaster to build homes and commercial buildings. Later, Don desired to grow in commercial construction, while Joe preferred residential work, so in 1966, the brothers amicably parted ways. DJ Construction Company was incorporated in 1967.  During the 1970’s, Don grew the business to become recognized as a major builder of commercial and industrial projects.

Don managed the business by himself from 1966 until his son Bob joined the firm in 1981. Bob became the General Manager of the company in 1982.

DJ Construction has experienced continued growth throughout its rich history, creating many long term relationships with clients and vendors. Today, Bob serves as CEO. Doug Wogoman, who joined the firm in 1995, became president in 2006. DJ opened its Warsaw office in March of 2010 to invest in the Kosciusko County community to serve a growing clientele in that area.

In 2014, DJ Construction celebrated its 60th anniversary by updating its brand. The company remains rooted in the tradition of providing unrivaled commercial construction services, while also positioning itself for solid future success by being decidedly different in all that they do.

2016 brought a change in leadership to DJ as Doug Wogoman stepped down as president. Jason Pippenger, who joined DJ in 2000, serves as president today.
