Three Church Projects Praised During National Association of Church Design Builders Annual Conference

GOSHEN, Ind. – (October 20, 2015) DJ Construction’s Decidedly Different philosophy was key in winning three awards during the National Association of Church Design Builders Annual Member’s Meeting.

DJ won two first place awards and a second place award during the NACDB annual conference on Sept. 29, in Arlington, Texas.  These awards were given in three distinct categories for three different projects, which were:

- Projects Less than $1 Million, for the renovation of the Granger Community Church, Elkhart,
   Ind., commons and cafe area.
- Spotlighted #teamNACDB, for the renovation of the Clinton Frame Mennonite Church,
Goshen, Ind., auditorium.
- Best New Construction, for the new construction of the Twin City Baptist Church, Mishawaka,
Ind., a 15,165 square-foot endeavor.

As the NACDB representative for northeast Indiana and south-central Michigan, companies like DJ work together to serve churches as the experts in the educational process, architectural design and construction of church related facilities around the nation.  The goal of the conference is to gather all the NACDB members together to network and discuss industry issues and commonalties faced in different regions in the United States.

Matt Schrock, Manager of Business Development, and Adam Tohulka, Pre-Construction/Project Manager, attended the conference and received the awards on behalf of DJ.

“What struck me most about all our conversations with the other design-build contractors, was not once did we talk about how to make more money building churches,” Schrock said. “Everything we talked about came back to one simple question. How do we become a better partner for the churches in our community?”
