Hawks Arts and Enterprise is a Goshen Success
DJ Construction’s Vice-President JC Schrock has been part of the family-owned business for 29 years. He has participated in many meaningful projects, so when asked to choose a favorite, he hesitates.
One thing he does know, he says, is that the recently-completed Hawks Arts and Enterprise project is up very, very high on his list.
Schrock and members of the DJ team were witnesses to the official opening of the 1800’s-era building, now renovated into 35 live/work apartments for artists and entrepreneurs, at a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 27 at the building located along Goshen’s millrace at 215 West Madison Street.
Surrounded by Schrock and many others involved in the renovation, LaCasa, Inc., President Larry Gautsche cut the ribbon amidst applause and celebration; then the public queued up and toured the apartments.
“Larry, Alan [Greaser], and Brad [Hunsberger], and many other LaCasa employees, private sector bankers, planners, engineers from the city … worked together to make this thing a reality…. What a success story for the city of Goshen,” said Schrock.
