Harvest Bible Chapel Breaks Ground
Rapid growth requires facility expansion.
May 25, 2014
GRANGER: Harvest Bible Chapel – Granger planted its roots a brief five years ago; those roots have grown deeply into the community, so much so that the church at 52277 Hickory Road has outgrown its facility.
On May 25 at 12:30, the church held a groundbreaking and dedication to expand their building, adding approximately 12,000 sq. ft. of space that focuses on the children’s area.
Enos Yoder, Certified Church Consultant from DJ Construction, the contractor for the addition, said the new area “focuses clearly on the church’s vision for their ministry into the Granger community and beyond.”
According to Trent Griffith, senior pastor, the master plan involves creating a “multi-function space for carrying out the disciple making ministries for children, teens, and adults who attend Harvest.
“Our church is filled with young couples. With young couples come young children. Our new addition will allow us to more effectively serve those families.”
The church addition includes a large community room, an indoor play area for children, and 12 classrooms with age-appropriate theming. The children’s area will be designed in order to provide safety and security by having a central check-in area, according to Yoder.
At the groundbreaking, the expansion perimeter was outlined so the public and congregation could see where the new facility will be built. A prayer of dedication was held, and each family had an opportunity to participate in the groundbreaking.
“Although we don’t believe there is any life-changing power in a building,” said Griffith, “we do believe the new building can be a place where people experience the life-changing power of God’s Word.
“We believe God’s Word speaks directly to the chaos and confusion that so many in our community are facing.
“Our services are designed bring people into God’s presence. In a day where churches are trying to convince people they are relevant, we are trying to be a church that offers something you can’t get at the mall, a concert, or a theater.”
